EXPERT SUGAR-COATING.

I find some of the most fascinating things about sharing a hostel with three other ladies, is firstly the fact that most often you tend to adopt their friends and your friend circle increases dramatically, especially when you actually like them as it is in my case. Secondly the undiluted gossip you have unlimited access to, starting with woeful heartbreak tales, to wistful love stories, it’s always an experience, and as you would expect I tend to find most of the drama funny and very relaxing. The fact that you get to listen to and get to know these three people you’re with for a session makes it easy to sometimes forget your struggles, and heal. Anyways while I sometimes brag that I like my silence and would love to be in a room all on my own, there are certainly perks of being with other people.

Since my love life is not often something I want to share, it’s nice to be able to live through the experiences of the people around me from time to time.

On the other hand, if someone is having a conversation at the top of their voice and it’s giving you a headache up to the point where you can’t even hear a movie you’re watching, is it not okay to tell them that they are shouting and should bring down their voices? Because this happened earlier, and I kept receiving comments like “Oh, it’s rude to tell someone that they’re shouting” (even when they are?), “I hate it when someone tells me to stop talking” (no one said you should stop talking, just do so in a manner that allows others to focus on their own interests also, or to sleep). It’s the most annoying feeling to be woken up out of sleep by noise, only to be told that it’s rude to be offended by such a situation. I know the majority of the world lives for sugar-coating but when I am genuinely stressed and annoyed I am just going to tell you what’s on my mind, plain and simple.

Anyway I didn’t mean to end this on a bleak note but sometimes shit happens, so I hope you enjoyed this brief walk in my mind and come again to see my experiences tomorrow. See you later.
