Kindness

If you read my post ACCURSED CAKE, you know that anytime I pressure myself to do something it ends up being the thing I shouldn’t do. Of late I have been pressuring myself to be kinder to older people. This probably has something to do with the influence of all the Korean movies I have been watching recently. In their movies they portray politeness and respect for elders religiously, so once again the easily influenced ‘me’ said “maybe I should try that”, And best believe my guardian angel was patiently waiting for a chance to deal his hand, and so he did today when I was strolling to class with my ears plugged and I noticed a woman signaling at me so I took out my earphone, she pointed to a woman standing by a public pump who was the actual person calling me. I walked up to her to investigate. She was so gentle as she asked me to help her pump water that she needed to fill a couple water bottles. Apart from the fact that I’m an absolute pushover, and find it hard saying no, this was finally the time for me to flaunt all of my home-training. So I pushed the pump handle down and water started coming out, “phew, this is quite easy” I thought to myself, until I looked up to find the woman smiling at me, “you ought to move it up and down to keep the water flowing” and to my greatest surprise the water had trickled to a stop, all the color drained from my face. What? This just got very serious, there are only a few things I find more unpleasant than fetching water, and one of them is drowning. I hope now you can see how much at a loss I was.

Anyway I began pumping and as expected when you just begin using a muscle you can’t feel a thing at first, a few more pumps and my hands started burning, I distracted myself by making snaps of the situation. Two bottles to go and the woman dropped one mistakenly, it hit the others and all the water spilled out, halving the contents of at least three bottles. At this point I was seeing double as you’d expect and I had a very grim expression plastered on my face. But I had a goal so I continued pumping. Finally we finished, and thankfully I lived to tell the tale. Now I can say I have done the kindness thing, but to be honest I think I have run out of older-people assistance for the rest of the week.

Also before I forget, I realized that there’s someone who I like buying doughnuts from not really because I love the doughnuts but because of her advertisement, she always starts by saying “hi lovelies” so maybe there’s something about that pet name. Lovelies, I guess we’ve got ourselves a name that will stick. Enjoy your day “loveli”.

Well loveli, I really hope you enjoyed this little peek into my day, if you did ensure to share with those you love. I hope you know you bring a smile to my face each second you take out of your day to read about mine. I hope this post puts a smile on your face or eases your stress even if it’s just for a second because you deserve every good thing. Bye then.
