GENTLE BREEZE

“Chirp, chirp.” The sparrow with a golden beak perched on a branch of the giant oak and tweeted out to Amos.

Amos lay on a large blanket on the open field and shielded his eyes from the sunlight filtering through the leaves of the oak tree.

The leaves of the oak tree rustled in tandem to the wind, displaying the splendor of the range of their motion. They danced for the wind, and because they knew they had an audience.

The bunny collecting fallen nuts stopped stuffing her face and looked upon the man lying in the grass, his eyes half closed. The wind rustled his clothing gently and his deep brown skin reflected the sun’s rays like polished wood.

The hawk soared over the tree, peering down at the bunny and the man. The man shielded his eyes and tried to sleep, the mottled bunny stuffed its face with as many nuts as possible and the grasses seemed to sway in unison as if orchestrated by an unseen force.

Amos smiled. He loved basking under the open sky and on beautiful days such as these.
