Through the eyes of a cow

Grazing on the sunny hill, his jaw mechanically crushed the grass that was his lunch for the day.

He watched his footing as he clambered up the hill. The cowherd rested on a time-smoothed rock, his face turned towards the sky and his rod leaned against the floor.

He looked away from the herder as a cattle-egret swooped in close to his eyes.

Swatting away flies with his tail, he continued grazing. Fresh, sun-warmed grass was always a treat for him and he tried to eat fast enough before his herder called for a migration.

The egret that stood by his eye eyed him cautiously but he was not bothered. He continued munching on the crisp blades of grass.

  1. I had a flat tire while travelling the other day and when it was getting fixed I found myself standing among cows.

    1. I have been told that looking into their eyes can be considered a challenge, and i wasn’t looking to get chase by cattle so i settled for wondering what was going on in their mind.
